The active advancement of the CleanTech diffusion process is practiced by the DCTI through the development and allocation of CleanTech Certificates for businesses, processes and products. The award of a DCTI seal of approval honours and encourages active commitment to “clean technologies”. The awarding of certificates helps create an increase in the awareness of and interest in CleanTech in business, politics and society.


Aims
The main purpose of certification is to increase market transparency. This aim is achieved by delivering objective evidence to stakeholders, consumers and investors that show the extent companies, processes and products go to in order to reduce emissions and preserve resources by using clean technologies. At the same time, potentials should be explored, new technologies encouraged and networks sustainably reinforced.

Certification Process
In the initial preparation stage, the range of the investigation to which the object to be analyzed is subjected to, is established. An evaluation is usually carried out using a catalogue of criteria, the results of which form the basis of an analysis. This is examined by an advisory panel of experts and, if it meets with their approval, the criteria for the award of a certificate have been fulfilled.
